Ok ok I promise

I will stop doing the short and "non" meaningful posts. After this one.

Here is a math trick so unbelievable that it might stump you.

1. Grab a calculator. (you won't be able to do this one in your head)
2. Key in the first three digits of your phone number (NOT the area code)
3. Multiply by 80
4. Add 1
5. Multiply by 250
6. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number
7. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number again.
8. Subtract 250
9. Divide number by 2

Do you recognize the answer?

Superhero?

I discovered this thru a buddy of mine blog.

I am Neo..the One.

Long time

Hey all

sorry for the delay. more on that later.

I was reading another blog and read this. I am still working thru it. But thought i would post to see what comments i get.

to all those who bear the name "christian",

congratulations.

you have accomplished much of what i have set out for you to do. the state of christendom pleases me more in the 21st century than at any other time in history. you have built en empire that honors me by its solely christian focus. your music, your movies, your books, they all exclude the traitorous heathens. you have your own stores, your own websites, your own greeting cards, your own music industry. you have done well, my children. you have shut out all those who do not bear the name "christian".

your churches are filled with the model disciples. these families send their children to christian school. they send their teenagers to christian concerts. they buy their daughters "God's Little Princes" candy jewelry from the local christian bookstore. they have excluded the evil pagans.

evangelism happens two ways: though the republican party's political agenda and through "testamints".

my children, your ghetto is almost complete.

your father,

Lucifer

WOW!

"i took a drug test the other day; it came back negative. Now that was great but now my dealer has some explaining to do." Dwight York.

I have been working on a construction job site for a couple weeks now. On and off, i have been there programming and debugging a control system. It has given me some time to think; which is usually scary.

It has been a rough couple of weeks. i have been wrestling with some decisions that i was not comfortable making. Nothing too drastic. Just things i need to work out.

Winding up the Fresh wind, Fresh fire series at Watermark. What a great book. very moving. i am looking forward to hearing more stories out of the groups that met during this time.

Congrats to Matt and Heidi Furr -- baby #3 arrived today. Check out Matt's blog to see pics. I am sure there will be updates.

Becca has expressed an interest in Tech stuff. In fact, she was able to serve in that capacity Monday night @ Moto. I was really pleased to hear that. One of the values her mom and i strongly have is an attitude of service for others. I was really cool to hear from others how she is "stepping" up.

I think i am going to host my 1st party at my place in the next 2 weeks. (some will say it is about time) This may not seem like a big deal but for me it is. I was at band practice last night and decided it would be good to have the band over for some grilling and time to hang. No date yet -- will keep you informed.

Well, it is late and i need to work tomorrow.

Later,

A new week.

last week was busy. A seminar, a building opening, met with a one of the coolest churches in west michigan, a huge drawing set due. It was busy. Now all the things i needed to get done last week, need to get done this week.

I am really getting into this Dave Ramsey stuff. He is a financial advisor. WOW, what a perspective. Check it out online at www.daveramsey.com. Very cool stuff.

Nothing new from the weekend.

Yeah, my side kick - Becca. This pic was taken a couple years ago at Crane's orchard. I have more recent pics -- i just really like this one. I am so proud of her. She is growing up too fast! When she is motivated, she goes! White Pines, the school she attends, is in this sell mode. The flavor of the week -- magazines. The school had a contest. if a student sold "X" amount of magazine subscriptions in a short period of time, they get to ride in a Hummer limo! Well, Becca loves the Hummer (like her father.)(not the H3, kinda like the H2, BUT love the H1). And made the goal. Now if i could get her to clean her bedroom! (hmmmmm...maybe i need to buy an H1???)

I am spending Monday nights with the Moto crew. I am excited about that. They are CRAZY! Middle schoolers are cool. I am looking forward to mondays! I so respect the leadership of our Genmark community. They have it goin' on.

Spent last night at a Church Building forum. It was cool. Many things discussed. Hopefully, people left with some good information. I did miss my FWFF group last night. I am bummed about that. I spoke to the group leader last night. He was extremely excited about the time. So i am looking forward to next week.

So i am excited about things at Watermark -- gatherings, Moto, FWFF group. i am lovin' it.

Why are we not playing golf?

New Series

We are studying the book Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire. I am excited about this for lots of reasons. First of all, it is a great book from a person who sees and has an understand of the power in prayer.

Second, i am excited about the prayer group i am in. I am not sure if it is anticipation of what God is doing or scared because of what God is doing. Either way, i am lovin' it.

Speaking of lovin' it, today is Talk like a Pirate day. Yes, once a year we get to enjoy talking like a pirate. or not. This was a big deal at a company I used to work for. Someone asked me if there was a "dress like a pirate day". To which i relied -- we already have that -- we call it Halloween.

Busy week ahead. Lots going on!

New school year -- new look

Do you like it?

It was out of necessity...or not. The comment engine driver i was using is not going to be available anymore. So i needed to change up to get the comment ability from Blogger.

Great weekend. Diving head first into "Fresh Wind Fresh Fire" book. I am excited about that.

I went catching this weekend. Yes, fishing is great; but catching is better. On the big lake, with a great friend, catching fish....ummmmm. how did we do? 4 of 6 with (2) steelhead, (1) king salmon and (1) lake trout. They currently reside in Jeff Johnson's freezer.

Just remember there is only one thing worse than falling into a outhouse -- and that is opening your mouth to scream (while falling into the outhouse)!!!!

Podcasting

The latest techno wave is podcasting. The ability to have audio and video streaming downloaded to an iPod. (although, you do not need an iPod to podcast. you can listen from your iTunes.

Well, Watermark is set up for podcasting. A person must have the latest version of iTunes (for Mac or PC). Under advanced, there is an option called subscribe to podcast. Type in http://feeds.feedburner.com/WatermarkPodcast and there you go. We are working on having a one click option where you click and it downloads.

Pretty cool. It was not terribly difficult to setup. I can fill in details on how. email me at carter.clark@gmail.com.

1st day of school for Becca. She is pumped!

Have a great day!

Well, it has been a while

Hello,

I was reminded last night that i have not blogged in a while. It was STRONGLY recommended that i update ASAP. In fact, this person has always been influental in my life and i knew i had better get it updated. Do not wake the sleeping bear.

Anyway, i had the opportunity to attend a birthday party yesterday for my nephew, Seth or big boy Seth. He is a character. When the Cary family move to their current residence, Seth was the one who knew all the neighbors before anyone else in the family. He is a bundle of energy and creativity. All of my nephews are a riot!! I enjoy to see them. And most of the family were there. It is always enjoyable to see and reconnect.

One of the best parts was a gift given by Mark and Marni. M & M are one of Seth's aunt and uncle. They live in Holland. A great couple and awesome kids. Anyway, the gift is an electric guitar that once touched plays guitar riffs and chord progressions. It is loud and obnoxious. He was running around -- making noise the rest of the evening.

it was fun!

Becca is winding down the summer and getting ready for school. Becca and her mom will be headed out soon to tackle the new school clothes hunt. The binder has been purchased and the backpack washed. I had the opportunity to see Becca's recently decorated locker. She is such a girl and her locker looked great.

Things are ASU are continually busy. I will be on a job local jobsite most of the week making the system work. That will be fun. Pulse Intermedia continues to ramp up slow but surely.

Gotta go for now!!!!

quarks (or qwerks)

I was listening to the radio this morning and they were discussing different quarks people have.

here are a few of mine:

1. when i see sign on the road or where ever, i count number of letters and see how fast i can find the middle of the sentence.
2. i have a need to use - 0.7 mm Bic Z4 pen. In addition, i need to have multiple colors.
3. When hanging clothing, i prefer to hang shirts/pants by color with matching hangers. In addition, i hang my t-shirts.

there are sooooo many more.

What quarks do you have?

I have another question

a friend of mine approached me and asked me this question:

He said,"what is wrong with this? If my wife and i are ok with it, what is wrong with going to the video store and renting a porn movie? we use it to spice up our sex life. What is wrong with that?"

He assured me that the wife is ok with it. I grilled him on that fact.

So how would you answer that question?

Wednesday, August 03, 2005

I have a question...

What comes to mind when you think of the word "community"?

I am curious....

leave a comment.

ok ok -- stop the presses!

There's a joke about a man who dies and goes to heaven. During the tour, his angel guide suddenly shushes him and tip-toes past a cloud with very tall walls. When they reach a distance, the man asks, "What was that cloud back there? How come we had to be so quiet?" And the angel guide replies, "Oh, that's the Lutheran wing. We have to be quiet because they think they're the only ones up here."

You know what the basic problem is? We all act like six year olds. Your wrong. No your wrong. NO YOUR WRONG.

We have a forgiving and understanding God. He is not going to condemn us all for not being the "RIGHT" religion. He would condemn us for our sinful nature, and theres not a religion or person out there that does not fit that bill. Thank the Lord for your grace and forgiveness or we would all be condemned. I try to lead my life as he would intend. Not always successful at it but I have always been a firm believer.

God is in pursuit of us. He loves us inspite of ourselves. I wonder how the world would change if 1. we love the Lord and 2. love our neighbors as ourselves. It is amazing the spins "we" put on things and label it God's will. Why can't we agree to disagree and move forward? You could take the Free Methodists, Wesleyans and Nazarene churchs, throw them in a bag, shake them up and not know who is how -- yet a merger of those demoninations will never happen because they cannot agree how the church should be structured. And alot of it boils down to verbage. Its a lobby -- no a narthex -- yikes?

well, i will not get lost in a debate about religions. Everyone has a little different way of worshiping. I just want to echo what has already been written -- thank you Lord that you are gracious and forgiving. Or heaven would be a lonely place to be.

that's my thought for the day,

signing off,
c-man

ten days later....

well much has happening.

I went to a Promise Keepers. My first. Interesting experience.

Becca had a death in the family. Her cat - Penny. But she and mom ended up getting (2) cutie pie kittens -- Dusty and Angel. Yes, i have met them. They are cute. But it was a tramatic experience for Becca & and her mom. But all is good now.

I have been asked how the training of Tigger is going. To date, he is doing a great job of training Becca. Heh heh heh. He tolerates and humors her trying to teach him things. Definately, that cat beats to his own drum.

All is good at Audio Systems Unlimited. Busy, busy, busy. The way i like it.

All is good at Watermark.

Two things i walked away from Promise Keepers with. 1. a renewed commitment to the basics. 2. Passion for something. I am sure i will expound on that at someother point.

gotta go for now.

are we at a point of no return while we are just dust in the wind?

Hmmmmmmmmm.......

WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT TO TURN ON THE TV AND HEAR ANY U.S. PRESIDENT, DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN GIVE THE FOLLOWING SPEECH?

My Fellow Americans: As you all know, the defeat of Iraq regime has been completed.

Since congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete.

This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces from Iraq. This action will be complete within 30 days. It is now to begin the reckoning.

Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short. The United Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, and Poland are some of the countries listed there.

The other list contains everyone not on the first list. Most of the world's nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of both lists later this evening.

Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war.

The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world Hell-holes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption.

Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France.

In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home. On that note, a word to terrorist organizations. Screw with us and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the earth.

Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France, or maybe China.

I am ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France, Germany, and Russia. Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are retiring from NATO as well. Bon chance, mes amis.

I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and crushed. I don't care about whatever treaty pertains to this. You creeps have tens of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay those tickets tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop shops in the world. I love New York ..

A special note to our neighbors. Canada is on List 2. Since we are likely to be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not pissing us off for a change.

Mexico is also on List 2. President Fox and his entire corrupt government really need an attitude adjustment. I will have a couple extra tank and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I am going to put em? Yep, border security. So start doing something with your oil.

Oh, by the way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA
treaty - starting now.

We are tired of the one-way highway. Immediately, we'll be drilling for oil in Alaska - which will take care of this country's oil needs for decades to come. If you're an environmentalist who opposes this decision, I refer you to List 2 above: pick a country and move there. They care.

It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism.. I answer them by saying, "darn tootin."

Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America. It is time to eliminate homelessness in America. It is time to eliminate World Cup Soccer from America. To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thanks guys. We owe you and we won't forget.

To the nations on List 2, a final thought: You might want to learn to speak Arabic.

God bless America. Thank you and good night.

If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you are reading it in English, thank a soldier.
